How Melteca and Laminex Formica Laminate Work Together

Having the same colour available across Melteca and Laminex Formica Laminate makes it easier to create a consistent look, when different surfaces require different products.

Melteca is a low pressure laminate (LPL) that is also referred to as melamine board. It’s used for cabinetry, joinery, and wall lining. Laminex Formica Laminate is a high-pressure laminate (HPL) more suited to harder-wearing applications and anywhere post-forming or curving is required, such as benchtops, splashbacks, rangehoods, curved door faces, and commercial fit-outs. There are over 28 colour matches* across both range. Each product has its strengths, but when they share a colour, it opens up more design possibilities.

Designers and trade professionals have used this approach in everything from residential kitchens to commercial interiors.

*Important note: because Melteca and Laminex Formica Laminate are manufactured using different processes, a colour difference may be noticeable when the two products are placed directly adjacent to each other. Always check physical samples before specifying to confirm the colour match works for your intended placement.

Classic Oak: A light, even tone across a kitchen

This showhome kitchen built for the GJ Gardner Nelson Bays by Bays Joinery, featuring Melteca Classic Oak runs across the cabinetry and into the scullery, carrying a warm, even timber décor throughout the home. Danish Walnut: Warmth carried through

Danish Walnut is a mid-depth timber grain that gives tonal flexibility in cool or warm settings. In this warm palette kitchen by Complete Kitchens, Melteca Danish Walnut is used on the upper and lower cabinetry, while Laminex Formica Laminate Danish Walnut wraps the curved rangehood box, where the post-forming capability of the laminate made it the appropriate product.
